August 2017 - jetty repairs
Click on Thumbnail While working on the Seafly last month I realised just how rotted the timber piles holding up the shed had become. Local builder, Mark, has suggested inserting some reinforced concrete piles (formed within drainage pipes) and new wooden beams to keep the shed from descending into the river!

2nd August
Jetty Repair Neighbour (and builder) Mark has started work of new supports for my "shed" at the ladward end of my jetty. Meanwhile today Rob Johnstone came to look at Seatern while he decides what if any boat he gets to replace Vagabond. For August the weather was atrocious with rain and winds which only got worse as the day progressed.
6th August

Fastnet Race
Click on Thumbnail The Fastnet Race started today between 1100 and 1240. As usual, I was on watch in Calshot Tower from 1200 so I took my telephoto lens along to see if I could photograph any of the action. You can see the results in this photo album.
